It has taken me awhile, but I think I’m ready to tackle the main bathroom makeover. Emotionally, physically and financially. I had to gear up for this one. There’s just something a little intimidating about decorating a bathroom. I want it to be beautiful, and relaxing at the same time. After all, I bask in there. My long bubble baths are sacred. Having a very small budget I can’t replace the bathtub or cabinetry….major bummer. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t still have a beautifully updated bathroom.
Bathroom Makeover – A Short Junkin Trip Away
My first stop is all my favorite thrift store type junkin spots. I lump them together into the title “thrift” store. Goodwill, Salvation Army, charity stores and Habitat For Humanity ReStores. I’m looking for decor, trim, mirrors, lumber, paint and hardware. I have a vision and a budget of $300. And even better, great inspiration!
So Many Ideas
I love reusing thrift store finds for something other than it’s original function. I shouldn’t have any trouble finding the bathroom accessories. But the great little details might take a little longer. Rugs, light fixtures, prints, curtains.
It would be great if I could find a really cheap china hutch in need of some love. But if not, I can dress up my built-in with some trim.
And oh how I want a great stool, maybe a wooden plant stand to put bath side like this one found on Home Bunch.
I have my budget. Now I need to go junkin, not that I ever need a reason to go, but this time I have a mission. I feel really confident that I will find exactly what I want at thrift stores, but it might take me awhile. That’s ok. Great design never happens overnight, not for me at least. Wish me luck!
