Any Lifestyle Blog written by a Southerner has to include food….right??!! Well this is my contribution, but I’m not going to post meal recipes, but Food DIY. The stuff that makes your meals totally delicious…..homemade sauces, seasoning mixes, jams, and condiments. The behind the scene ingredients that work to make your meals filled with love and have your health and improved taste factors in mind. I will slowly but surely add some of my favorite recipes. Tweak this to suit your “OMG that’s spicy” needs. I prefer to use 1/2 paprika and 1/2 smoked paprika. Add 2 – 3 T. of the mix & 1/2 c. of water to 1 lb of cooked meat. Simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated.
I use this mix in my homemade; spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce and in all my Italian dishes. It’s great to sprinkle on homemade breadsticks too!
Use your favorite salt, I prefer a ground Kosher salt. This is the amount of salt we prefer in our mix, but with all seasoned mixes tweak it to suit your needs.
Try this in hamburgers, on chicken and add to potato cubes baked in the oven. Bouillon Powder makes this awesome!
This is awesome sprinkled on fries! And you definitely want the Smoked Paprika

Lay the cloves out on a cookie sheet to freeze. Then place in a glass jar. You can then just remove one at a time to use.
To make powdered oat, ground the oatmeal in a chopper. I prefer a Ninja!
Ramekins are a wonderful thing to have. I like to use them to make individual servings of: pot pies, casseroles and tons of desserts. They can go from oven to freezer!
