Exercise Your Happiness So It Doesn’t Get Flabby

Because of my work in public service, my blogging and social media activities I’m exposed to a lot of people every day. It seems to me that people in general, are becoming less happy especially on social media. I would actually describe the general mood as glum bordering on depression.  Impatience, anger, frustration and rudeness, we seem to have lost the ability to just be happy or even find happiness with a flashlight and a GPS.  But, maybe I’m just catching them at the end of a bad day, I hope so anyway.  But what if happiness is something you can decide?

What if just for today, you decided to be happy.  No reason, you just feel like being happy today. We make random decisions every day, why can’t one of them be to be happy? It’s not as hard as it sounds, just set your mind to being happy, and stand your ground! Don’t let anything burst your happiness bubble!

Track Down Your Happiness

There are lots of ways to find your happy. Call or be with someone who makes you laugh. share lunch with good friends, Google silly jokes, blow bubbles at your desk, put on some awesome Disco music like Lady Marmalade by Patti LaBelle and dance in the kitchen wearing your husband’s boxers. Hey! Don’t judge my happy, I won’t judge yours! Just be happy! Then you will begin to notice something strange, other people will begin to catch your mood!  You will infect them with your happiness and it will multiply and spread.  Why, you could change the world by just deciding that today, you are going to be happy!  People will call you, “The Happy For No Reason Woman” and you could be a Twitter sensation!

5 minute happiness

I know that there are so many serious matters that deserve your attention, and I know that they won’t let you ignore them for long.  But what does it hurt that every once in a while, just because you need a break, you take a day off and simply be….happy!
