You Can Catch More Flies with Vinegar!

June 8, 2015 0 Comments

This is one of the recipes that I get asked about the most.  I clean with citrus vinegar; grapefruit, orange and lemon.  I haven’t found anything better!  Chemicals in my house scare me, because children lick EVERYTHING!  It amazes me the things that they will either lick or stick in their mouths, so I want to make sure my home isn’t toxic. This recipe works the same no matter which fruit peel you use.

This was reprinted from my Facebook Page  and I want to mention that the picture is not mine, I took it from Pinterest and I don’t know how the contributor is, but it’s a great pic!

Oh….in case you’re wondering, it’s super easy to make Orange Vinegar.  I use it to clean a lot of different things, but it’s especially handy for oily grunge, and Orange Vinegar is an essential ingredient in my furniture repair elixir. Simply fill a quart size jar with orange peels and add white vinegar to the top of the jar.  Put the date on the lid and put it in a dark cabinet for 2 weeks.  Then remove the peels, I like to squeeze the peels to get ALL the goodness out of them, but that’s just me.

And speaking of catching more flies, did you know that ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) is awesome at killing fruit flies?  Add a little to a recycled jar lid, add a drop is dish soap and set it out and watch them DIE!

For those of you who have been asking about how to make fruit peel cleaning vinegar, I hope this helps!

Happy Cleaning!!
